avp-Forum      S / ONAD      Alternatives to Violence Project

Sudan Partners

Sudan became independent in 1956 as the first state in Africa. But a long history of violence hampered a peaceful development. In 2011 the majority of the South Sudanese voted for an independent sovereign state, but the conflicts continued.

In the framework of the Civil Peace Service we worked in Sudan and have strong partnerships with civil society organisations till today. They work for a peaceful, democratic and tolerant society further on.

Project partners: AVP Forum Sudan and ONAD

We support the work of the AVP forum in North and South Sudan and especially the activities with refugees and street children. We also support the training of trainers on an international level as well as people who have to flee the country due to political reasons.

The organisation called ONAD (Organisation for Non-Violence and Development) carries out different projects and courses regarding non-violent conflict resolution and empowerment.
